Sheryl McPherson has four years of professional archaeozoological experience.
She has a MA degree in Archaeology, with a specific emphasis on faunal analysis and material culture. Sheryl received her training in archaeozoology and M.A. degree from the University of Otago, Dunedin.
Since 2007, Sheryl has analysed faunal remains for a number of archaeologists, including those from:
- Archaeology North
- Southern Archaeology
- The Department of Conservation (New Zealand)
- Australian National University
- University of Otago
- James Cook University
Sheryl has extensive experience analyzing fragmented Pacific, island South East Asia and New Zealand faunal remains. This includes bird, fish, reptile, mammals, sea mammals and shellfish. She has close connections with the University of Otago and Otago Museum and thus access to comprehensive reference collections.
